Dark Knight Rises

According to my Mother, I have always been a big Batman fan. I was the little 4 year old with a glow in the dark Batman watch. I was the little girl opening weekend at the movie theater finishing lines with Batman when the original Batman came out in 1989. So its kinda surprising that honestly, I had no desire to see this movie in the theater. I wonder if maybe it was because I didn't see the first two in the theaters and maybe I was like Well I didn't see them right away so why bother? I don't know. But let me tell you, I am glad I did go see it! It was not as good as the 2nd one (but honestly, who can beat Heath Ledger playing The Joker?) but it was better then the 1st one. I still hate his voice, I mean really, who talks like that? Bane's character was very intimidating. This hormonal chick cried at a few parts. And Christopher Nolan ended this trilogy in probably one of the best ways I have seen a movie series end in a long time. I enjoyed this movie so much, I am debating on going to see it again with some friends. So if you have been debating on it, go see it. You will not be disappointed at all!

King Tut, Bite of Seattle, Day with Friends and Air Show...oh my!

Friday I headed up to Seattle like I do every weekend. Tall Guy and I were taking Little Man and his younger brother to see the King Tut exhibit at the Pacific Science Center and then to the Bite of Seattle. Good thing about it is that we paid for parking once and we were able to enjoy both things as they were both in Seattle Center. If you are familiar with Seattle AT ALL, you know parking, without an event, is majorly suckage. So finding parking for two events for the price of one is SCORE!

First stop was the King Tut exhibit. I love anything about Ancient Egypt and especially anything with King Tut. So needless to say I was on pins and needles all excited to see this. If you know anything about the exhibit, this is the last time it will ever be in North America so if it comes near you...go see it. Seriously.

That being said, if you have ever gone to major museum, you know that most of them are crawling with Ancient Egypt exhibits. The National History Museum in NYC has a HUGE one (including a replica of a pyramid). So while this exhibit is really cool to see, it wasn't worth the 40$ a ticket that was paid. BUT it was still cool, don't get me wrong. Little Man LOVED it and that is all that matters right?

Here are some pictures...we all completely forgot our camera's (and kicking ourselves for forgetting!) so we had to use camera phones. Blackberry has a CRAPPY camera compared to my Sidekick so the pictures I do have are crap. BUT hey, maybe I'll pay that 40$ a person again and go see it again!

Then Saturday, N was having a Bring Back my Bar Scentsy Party so I hung out with her all day. She made a chicken and bacon crescent ring and wow. It was delicious and I ate like 6 pieces, no joke. Can we say HUGE?!? Needless to say I am feeling it now and it sucks. LOL  If anyone is interested in placing an order OR interested in some of the past months scents of the month, let me know. She has a TON of them on hand and can ship the next day!

Sunday we got up bright and early and headed to the Air Show on JBLM. They put it on every two years and this year was Little Man's first time. Traffic on Saturday was insane (it took me an hour to get to N's house and it normally only takes me 15 minutes AT MOST) and they had 150,000 people on the base. So I got to A's house around 930 and we headed there around 11. Little Man had a blast and I am so glad we went! The Thunderbirds were good but (sorry Air Force!!!) I prefer the Blue Angels totally! Poor Little Miss did NOT like the sounds the jets were making. At one point my stomach literally jumped when the B-52 went by.

Running Chics Review and Giveaway!!!

Who doesn't love comfortable workout clothes? For me, its all about comfort. You are working up a sweat. Bending in ways that let's face it, you wouldn't be normally bending. You really don't want to be worried if your shirt is bunching up or your pants are in your buttcrack.

I mean at least I don't want to be worrying about that. Some people I have seen at the gym I wonder about :-P

My Weekend in Review.

Friday

Tall Guy and I went to dinner at Gordon Biersch and had an absolutely awesome meal. The resturant overlooks the city of Seattle (its on the 4th floor) and its just beautiful. The only thing that could have made that beautiful day better was being able to drink a tall Bud Light. But hey, we can't all get what we want right? :-P Westlake Center is not far from Pike's Market so we decided to walk down there.

Walking down the hill...love how beautiful the Sound is
And of course I had to be a tourist and snap a picture inside the Market..

Famous Public Market sign...
We ended up going to Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory where we indulged in some sweets (me a cheesecake covered apple) and some delicious ice cream. I ordered Spumoni where I promptly remembered how much I despise waffle cones (mind you, after ordering one). Yeah...oops. Then it was time to head back to Tall Guy's place to make fun of his brother and to sit on my butt directly in front of a fan. See...this weather is just not cool for a pregnant woman!!

Saturday

Discovered that our cats have ear mites (poor Bella got them from the kitten) so they are both currently mad as all get out with me. Bella keeps glaring and won't let us touch her. Poor things. I can't even imagine how that must feel :(

But good news is that I found the cloth diapers I am using for the newborn time for 153$ for 17 diapers. I was going to be spending 294$ through another source so the fact that I am saving mega bucks makes me really happy! They shipped on the 14th and I can't wait to get them!! Who would have thought cloth diapers would have been a reason for excitement? Oh it is around here, let me tell you!

Whats on your menu tonight?
We are having beef stir fry. Nom nom nom!

A new giveaway starts tomorrow. Hope you're excited for it cause I know I am!

Oh...the heat....

Compared to the rest of the country, our heat is nothing. It really isn't.

But compared to my 7 month pregnant body, this is brutal.

The highs are only in the 80s. Which like I said before, it could be WAY worse!  And yes we have a great breeze. And YES I have a fully remodeled basement that is literally like 40 degrees downstairs in the summer (Little Man is on the couch wrapped in a blanket with the temps of 80 outside!). But by golly, I HATE THIS CRAP!

Around here, because our "summers" literally last a couple weeks, not months, AC is virtually unheard of. And its funny because talks with some of my native WA friends when I say I wish I had central air I get this weird look and a "Why?" I'm not a big heat person! That's why!! I can't sleep when its hot. I don't want to move when its hot. I don't want to even clean when its hot. I just want to sit on my butt with a fan blowing directly on me and just melt. True story.

Every morning I get up and want to make sure the temps are going down, which they have been. But this weekend is supposed to be almost 90. Can we say suck?!? I have a feeling the next couple weeks are going to be lots and lots of pool time. Which hey, I'm okay with that. I got a slight tan this weekend and couldn't be happier! Now if only my legs would tan. I don't like being held responsible for people going blind with from my whiteness :D

What is the temps like where you are? How are you cooling off? Any big plans this summer?

What's for dinner? Tonight I am making crockpot chicken tacos. Easy, quick, filling and I don't have to turn on my oven or stove :D Bazinga!

Two Book Reviews...

I signed me and Little Man up for the Summer Reading Program at the base library. We are finally working on the 2nd sheet of time slots so hopefully we have them done by August 3rd!

The two books I have read so far have been...

A Storm of Swords by George RR Martin

This is the 3rd book in the Song of Ice and Fire series and so far my absolute favorite. Warning... he is not afraid to kill main characters and one particular part brought me to tears. This book made me severely neglect homework and now I am on the catch up train!! So if you are reading this series, you are going to love this one!!

50 Shades of Grey by EJ James

Nothing spectacular. Nothing exciting really. It is of the erotic genre but honestly, and call me a freak, I didn't find it that exciting. I have read way more raunchier stuff! The writing style is atrocious. It's Twilight fanfic and after having it explained to me, I can totally see it now. Which sucks because I actually kinda liked the Twilight books! This one is just a light, easy, beachy read. That all being said, I will finish out the series (2 other ones) but it won't be at the front of my list of books to read. Warning...it might cause you to dream that Christian Grey is Robert Downy Jr...yes...I did that...
