Family Recipe: Pudding Things

Simple name huh? Not entirely sure how it got its name or if its just a made up thing with a really simple name (as its pudding) but I think its funny.

Tall Guy's family makes these all the time. Christmas, Sunday breakfasts or just because. So the other morning he made these for breakfast. And they were super delicious! Not only are they delicious but they are super simple. The only disclaimer I give is that they are very filling and very rich. So while that plate shows 4, I was only able to eat like 3.5. Which yes, holy crap 3.5. But once you get going, you can't stop! LOL

Recipe after the pictures! Enjoy!

Recipe: Pudding Things

Ingredients:

2 Packets COOK AND SERVE Pudding
Whole Milk
Whipped Frosting
Crescent Rolls (for 2 boxes of pudding, use two canisters)

Cook Pudding to directions on box.
Fold crescent rolls back onto themselves to form a square and place on an inverted muffin pan, cook according to package.
Melt a portion of the frosting in the microwave.
Fill crescent roll bowls with the cooked pudding and drizzle with frosting.
Pair with a cup of coffee or some milk!

ENJOY!

Chicken Stuffing Casserole...I think is what its called?

Trust me, I know more than anyone that I need to lose this weight.

Trust me when I say that I AM trying to eat healthier.

So trust me when I say that this is amazing.

And simple.

Tall Guy grew up eating this and for some strange reason he just one day was like "Mom, what was that recipe..."

Recipe after the pictures!

Ingredients are:

4 Chicken Breasts
1 can of cream of chicken
1 box of stuffing
Mozzerella cheese
Half a can of water
half a stick of butter (melted)

Recipe:

Take 4 chicken breasts and lay in the bottom of a 9x13 pan.
Then spread a can of cream of chicken over the chicken.
Sprinkle mozzerella cheese over that and then pour half a can of water over it all.
Top with a box of stuffing.
Then melt half a stick of butter and pour around the edge.
Cover with tin foil and bake for 1 hour at 375.
Check chicken to make sure its is done. Chicken will be easy to break apart.

Voila!

Goulash...Nom Nom Nom

Ever want one of those quick meals that really fills you up and takes minimal ingredients?

Goulash is totally one of those meals.

Tall Guy makes this quite often. I guess when you're only feeding yourself and want plenty of leftovers, this is the meal to make! Its spicy, its quick, its easy and its oh so delicious.

Sadly I took no pictures of the after effect. It was all in my tummy :D

Cast of Characters

Nom nom nom! Ground beef seasoned with Salt, Pepper and Lowrys!
1/2 Box Macaroni
1lb Ground Beef
V8 Juice
Pepper
Salt
Lawry's
Cayenne Pepper
Chili Powder

Start water boiling for the macaroni. Doesn't matter if there is too much, you will end up draining it. Start cooking the meat Med to Med/High. Once the water has started to boil, add the macaroni. As the meat starts to cook make sure to season it with salt, pepper and lowry's. Make sure you can taste the flavor once it's finished cooking. Once the meat has cooked, turn down the heat. When the macaroni reaches the al dente state, drain it. Pour the meat into the macaroni and start adding the V8 Juice. You'll want to pour past the point where it looks like enough because some will boil off and the macaroni will absorb some. Once you have the right mixture, turn up the heat until it begins to boil. Add in plenty of salt, pepper and chili powder. Add in the cayenne pepper to your level of comfort. Stir everything and once it begins to boil, turn off the heat and let it set a few minutes before you serve it.

And I would never admit this to him but his is so much better. I don't know what he does differently but I will be finding out!

Enjoy!

Not exactly the healthiest...

While this recipe is NOT the healthiest (so if you thought I was always a  healthy eats blog, you might as well turn around RIGHT now!! :-P) but its a family favorite. It is courtesy of my Aunt J. She is always cooking some delicious eats, and its always being shoved down my throat when I manage to go home! My favorite thing that they make is my Uncle's famous venison jerky. Oh man. I know she reads this too so this is me dropping MASSIVE hints that I should get a care package of some this year ;-D

This recipe really doesn't have a name except Hanky Pankys. And it's been called that for as long as I can remember. Its served at all the New Years Partys, birthdays, really any big family get together we had. This and her AMAZING taco salad which I will be making here soon! Its very quick, its very easy and it takes a grand total of three ingredients. Yup, three. I made them the other night as a dinner just because it was one of those busy days and didn't feel like coming home and cooking a big meal. Yeah let's just say that there were maybe 3 left over out of the three cookie sheets I made.

Recipe after the pictures!

Recipe:

Hanky Panky's

What you need:

1 small block of velvetta per 1 container of Jimmy Dean Sausage (I use the 1lb per 1 container of the breakfast sausage)
1 sleeve of pumpernickel bread (again, depends on how many you are cooking for!)

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2. Fry up the Jimmy Dean Sausage and then drain meat
3. Slice up the veletta and melt cheese over sausage.
4. Spoon some of the meat/cheese combination onto a slice of the bread. Arrange on cookie sheet.
5. Bake for 10 minutes. Depending on your oven, you have to keep an eye on it. You want the bread to get a crisp yet chewy taste in the center. You don't want it so hard that you are biting into a brick because then you will be hating life.

Enjoy!

What's for dinner? Tonight I am trying out a new recipe...Crockpot Beef Stroganoff over steamed rice. Should be tasty!
