Bi-Weekly Menu Sept 17th-Sept 28th

I have made a menu for the first time in....

man I can't even tell you how long.

But here it is. So Running With the Girls, your family can eat again! :-P

Baked French Toast
Diced Ham and Eggs
Steak Fingers with Gravy
Chicken Teriyaki, Rice and Steamed broccoli
Orzo with Parm and Basil
Crockpot Chicken Ceaser Sandwiches
T-Bone Steaks with Hotel Butter
Sausage Egg and Cheese Biscuit Casserole
Best Macaroni Salad Ever
Bacon, Egg and Cheese Wreath
White Chicken Cheddar Pasta
Tex-Mex Chicken Soup
Bacon-Chicken Crescent Ring Bake
Scalloped Potatoes and Ham
Tater Tot Casserole

Course, since I will be 36 weeks on Friday, I MIGHT have Little Miss before then. I doubt it since my last OB appt showed that she is making ZERO effort to try and come out. Before my midwife was thinking I wouldn't make it to 37 weeks. Now she's thinking that she might just stay in the entire 40 weeks. Given how large she is, I really hope not!!!

BiWeekly Menu!

So I have noticed a trend.
When I don't make a menu and stick to it, there is LOTS of eating out to be had.
And frankly I am sick and tired of wasting money on food I can cook at home, use less fattening ingredients AND it tastes so much better.
So I sat down this weekend and made my menu. I miss cooking. I miss adding new recipes to this blog. I know I keep saying I have a bunch to add, which I do. And I just never do it. So that ends now!

This biweekly menu looks like this:

Biscuits and Gravy
Grilled PB and Honey Sandwiches
Layered Beef and Mac n' Cheese (Little Man is gonna love it!)
French Toast with Berry Butter
Risotto
Egg Salad Sandwiches on Lettuce Wraps
Chicken and Steak Kabobs (our own recipe)
White Cheddar Chicken Pasta
Chicken Pot Pie
Pasta Alla Marlboro Man
Hot Ham and Cheese Sandwiches with Onion Butter
Crockpot Chicken Tacos
Sausage Egg and Cheese Biscuit Casserole
Chick Fil-A Chicken Sandwiches (homemade!)
Potato Bacon Casserole
Crockpot Beef Stroganoff

I will make sure to take picture before, during AND after and I will be posting each night. And I expect YOU to hold me to that (this should read JEN, you need to hound me since I know you love when I post new recipes! LOL)

Hope you have a good day!

What's on the menu tonight? Tonight we are having Chicken Salad Sandwiches (our own recipe so will blog it) on Pita Pockets :D

Tomorrow will be a Vita Coco Giveaway. I'm excited and hope you are too!

Oh lazy weekends!

I love my weekends usually. They are mostly laid back filled with either a CSI or SVU marathon. Laundry gets done and I just relax all weekend. Its glorious.

And this weekend was none different.

I took a break from nesting and just spent the day watching trash TV and reading. Some days you just need those lazy days you know? A day to just recoup and regroup.

Course a hot new Blizzard game is finally out...

So when I wasn't engrossed in A Storm of Swords, I was playing this. Little Man was either watching me play and when I wasn't he was engrossed in Other Chef playing. Other Chef, and about half of my friends, have already beaten Diablo on regular mode. I just got the full game yesterday so I am still in the beginning stages. Plus I can't seem to want to play for hours on end either. Too much to do!! And this book has severely sucked me in! I have a week left for my two week break in between classes so I am trying my hardest to get really far into this book so I don't feel bad when I have to take a break for school.

19 Weeks Pregnant shot. Yes that is a frown face. I feel HUGE!! AND I am only 5 months. Oy!

I look outside and its pouring. Cold too, in the mid 50s. Then I look down and I see this...

Don't let the cuteness fool ya. She's been nicknamed Spawn for a reason...

Ah the life of a cat huh? Just sleep all day and not worry about a dang thing!

Upcoming Giveaway (starts on Thursday!!): Vita Coco! A chance to win a case of a flavor of your choice out of the three they gave me :D

What's on your menu tonight? We are having chicken alfredo :D Nom!

Momma Topic #1: Crib Bedding

Well I survived having my tooth yanked. Literally took me like 15 minutes in there. Took longer to drive there then it did to yank it out. Now its just making sure that it heals and no dry sockets. Ewie.

First Momma topic on this week is the wonderful crib decor!!

Having children that are 7 years apart means that you have really absolutely nothing from the previous child (unless you kept it all which honestly, not sure how many people actually do that?). Which in turn means that you are spending quite a bit of money on stuff the baby needs (or really what will make your life easier!!). There is a growing pile of baby stuff that is just waiting to be put in its proper place once the nursery is set up (which not buying furniture until the gender is revealed) so that will still be another month. BUT it kinda looks like this (please ignore the bookcase in my room, its supposed to be for my textbooks but the bottom shelves has become my catch all bookcase):

Lots of things this little one needs and I am not even halfway through buying stuff!!!

ANYWAY back to the topic at hand...nursery decor. I am letting you awesome readers pick which ones we will use for boy or girl! I have it limited it down to 2 each and honestly, can't decide. So here goes:

Boy Choices:

Pirate Party

Monsters
Girl Choices:

Owls (has a super cute applique on Amazon that matches this too!)

Love Bird
Neutral Choices:

Animal Parade

Treetop Friends
I honestly could just make this easier on myself and not worry about it until I know what I am having but honestly, where is the fun in that?? Plus I like planning things out. I hate feeling overwhelmed and honestly with baby stuff, its VERY easy to feel that way!!

So whatcha think? Cast your votes below. I know I have my favorite but would love to see what you all think!

On the menu tonight is Chicken Ceaser Sandwiches. Should be interesting to see how well I eat since after I am done eating, I have to rinse my mouth out. Fun times huh? Whatcha having for dinner?

Hope you lovies are having a good day!!

Not going to be overly Momma-ish...

First I will share a new belly picture. I was feeling like I was getting bigger and apparently, I am. I am huge already and I am not even halfway there!! LOL

15 weeks, don't I look thrilled?
I could have managed a smile BUT I am in lots of pain currently. My wisdom teeth were never extracted and they are now forcing their way up into my mouth. Well my dentist want's to use the most of my limited dental coverage (1200$ for the year) and he was going to yank my back molars and let me wisdom teeth become my back molars (Note: all 4 of my wisdom teeth are coming in beautifully apparently). WELL the one on the bottom right has NOWHERE to go so its been coming up against my back molar. I needed to get them all pulled BUT I got pregnant and that didn't work out as planned. Friday night, my tooth shattered. The wisdom tooth has completely pushed its way up and yeah no beuno. So today at 1pm I am getting it yanked...fun times. Not.

I've decided to not get all Momma-ish gooey on here. Figure once a week I will post something that I want to post (like one week about cribs, one week about strollers, one week about paint swatches LOL) and be done with it. Plus it works out too cause there are some things I am just completely indecisive about (like the crib) and its nice to have a neutral opinion about it all :D

Not sure what is on the menu tonight...I know for me it will be Jello, Pudding, Soup, Applesauce. Sounds exciting doesn't it??

Tune of the day:

I miss it...

I miss the gym.

I miss running.

I miss putting in my headphones and just getting my workout in and feeling fantastic afterwards.

I have been horribly sick the last 4 weeks. My Doc put me on Ensure because I haven't been able to keep anything in my system. My meals lately have consisted of chicken broth, Saltines, Ensure and some fruit. Nothing to really write home about.

Hence why the cooking part of my blog has slacked. I miss cooking :( Other Chef has been doing all the cooking lately and I am totally grateful for that but I feel bad.

Tonight its broccoli and cheddar soup. Let's hope that I can actually enjoy it!!

"Don't be surprised if I get up and make more..."

So on Valentine's Day, I made N and the kids dinner. We both had to be away from our Valentine's (hers is deployed currently) and I didn't want her to be alone so I said Be my Valentine this year! After NO hesitation, she told me yes and so our amazing relationship (spur of the moment one) was formed. She's lovely and takes care of me. Yes she does ;-D

I didn't know what to make so of course I consulted the trusty Pioneer Woman for some ideas. At first, I thought I would cook Steak Diane. Then I said Nah. So I decided on some Chicken Piccata. I texted her and she said "That is yummy! I just had it last week!" Well...that is out the window. So I decided on Beef with Snow Peas. So insanely simple and so insanely flavorful! First time I made this recipe was last year for Easter!

At the commissary I tried to find ginger but had to settle on the already minced, in a tube ginger. Still works!! In fact, I think I had more ginger flavor using that then I had using fresh ginger! I also bought two bags of snow peas cause I didn't know how much we would manage to eat. I get to her house (mind you after cutting my hand open too, that was FUN!) and get down to cooking. She's standing next to me and goes "Don't be surprised if I get up and make more snow peas." I said really? (I had only opened the one bag) Her response is "Oh yeah, my kids love vegetables." Sure..sure N. Sure. I had jasmine rice going in the rice cooker so you can imagine the scents right now. Rice cooking, ginger, soy sauce...nom nom nom.

We get down to eating and guess what DOESN'T happen?!? None of the kids want to eat the snow peas. Not even her son, who eats EVERYTHING! So sure sure N, sure. Go ahead and make some more...mmhmm.

It was amazing (like all the things I cook, duh! ;-D). Not a single leftover was left. All plates were clean, save for the snow peas. Definetly another winner from PW! If you haven't made this yet, DO IT. You will NOT regret it!!

Scentsy Winner, A Recipe and my Menu

First I will start off by saying thanks for the quick entries for the Scentsy Beach Plugin Warmer. The winner is...

(now its weird, one of my comments didn't have a number next to their name (if anyone knows why, please let me know how I can fix that) so I had to count. Thank goodness it was only 9!!)

#7!!
#7 is mommysap! Please contact me as soon as you see this so I can get it mailed out in a timely fashion (hoping as early as tomorrow!!). Email me at soljersterATgmailDOTcom. Thanks!!

I know I have been slacking in the cooking department and that is...well that is nothing except pure laziness. I have made quite a few new recipes but sadly, no pictures. I tried to take a few with my phone but that just didn't work. I will still post the post about them but sadly, no pictures. Yes, bad food blogger.

About a week ago, I made Chicken and Wild Rice Casserole . One word...AH-Mazing. I loved it. Other Chef loved it. Little Man loved it. Definetly a keeper for sure!! It was kinda funny watching Little Man put all the mushrooms to the side and say to me "Here Momma, you can have these." Aww, aren't you a sweetheart? Nothing really to report about it except its amazing. Seriously. And so easy and quick to make!! You won't be disappointed!! (Recipe at the link!)

Chicken and Wild Rice Casserole

This grocery period is full of a LOT of new recipes. A lot of which, I have never cooked before. So that makes this food blogger extremely excited and nervous all at the same time! Most of my recipes came from Tasty Kitchen again, seriously...how amazing is that website? And almost ALL the recipes I have gotten off of there, have been amazing. If you haven't checked it out yet, you need to!
