Running Divas Review and Giveaway

Who doesn't like comfortable workout clothes? Be it running, walking, Crossfit, or just a day at the gym...you have to feel comfortable in what you are wearing right?

One of my absolute favorite companies for apparel is Running Divas. I really like their Running Divas-Flaunt It tees (as you know, most of them are marathon or half marathon sayings and I have never ran one of those!...maybe one day!). After owning about 7 of these of my own, I want to share with you guys! I know some of you are very familiar with their clothing and can you argue that they aren't super comfortable and super soft? Nope you can't. And some of the sayings are absolutely hilarious.

So as part of my weekly "My Favorite Things" giveaway, I asked Running Divas if they would be a part of it. Of course, they said yes! They were awesome enough to send me one of these for myself:

Which is absolutely comfortable! I love how its a pullover and that its so lightweight. With our random temperatures (its 76 today and will be 60s next week...really?) that is a must around WA.

And then he sent me FOUR pieces for FOUR lucky readers!

1. Vampire Runners Dark Thirty-Tank. Orange. Size Medium

2. how long have i been running 13.1 ribbed long sleeve tee. size Medium

3. Running Divas-Flaunt it long sleeve tee-red. Size Medium

4. Marathon Girl Grey Tshirt Size Medium

Yoplait Frozen Yogurt Review and Giveaway

Not sure about any of you, but I love me some Greek yogurt. Right now, I have about 3 different types in my fridge. So when a review and giveaway opportunity appeared from MyBlogSpark for Yoplait Frozen Products, I jumped at it!

I bought two pints with my complimentary coupon (that one of you will receive, gives you a FREE product to try out).

The Peach was by far my favorite to eat! It doesn't even taste like frozen yogurt ice cream either. It literally tastes like someone stuck a package of yogurt in the freezer to freeze. Which honestly, makes it all the more better to me. Its not overly sweet like frozen yogurt ice cream is. It has chunks of fruit in it which is delicious. And the awesome part is 110 calories per serving. Whereas a pint of a competitors ice cream has 260 per serving. I put on some Private Practice, cracked up the tub and honestly, before I knew it half of it was gone. Whoops! But hey, its a semi healthy, delicious snack so I'll take it!

Not only is this stuff amazing, but I want one of you to be able to enjoy it as well! So here is the giveaway part of this blog post:

Your gift pack will include:

  • Two stainless steel bowls perfect for cold desserts
  • An 8” ice cream scoop made of 18/10 stainless steel with zinc alloy
  • Coupon for free trial of Yoplait’s new frozen yogurt flavors

You are not limited to trying out the greek yogurt, that is just what I tried out. Your coupon can be redeemed for ANY of the Yoplait Frozen Yogurt products.

Here is how you can enter:

1. Be a blog follower and comment below that you are +1 entry
2. Like the Yoplait FB page and comment below that you did +1 entry
3. Share this awesome giveaway and comment below that you did +2 entry

Giveaway will run until Dec 29th, 2012 and will close at 9am. I will post a winner sometime that day.

“Disclosure: The information, products and Yoplait gift pack were provided by Yoplait through MyBlogSpark.”

BluApple Review and Giveaway!!

One of the biggest part about getting healthy is more fruits and vegetables. That is a given right?

If you are anything like me though, you end up throwing a lot of in the garbage. And that just makes me angry. The commissary is lacking in the fresh produce department (hence why I get it off base now) but until I finally just bit the bullet and found other places, I was tossing a lot of my monies down the drain. Or it wasn't even that it was going bad too fast, it was that we weren't eating it quick enough. Until I started cooking like all.the.time I would buy fruits and again, half of it would go bad. Bad on my end. Bad on that end. I had a very love/hate relationship when it came to my produce!

I saw BluApple's product on another friend's blog. She raved about it. She loves it! So I contacted the company, kinda skeptical at first, and asked if I could try it out for me and for you guys. Jessica emailed me back instantly and was happy to oblige!

And you know what? It LITERALLY works! I have two of them, one in each of my produce drawers, and I HAVE seen a difference in the longevity and freshness of my produce!

Here's how it works:

Ethylene gas is given off by all living plants, especially by fruits, vegetables and flowers, and acts as a chemical signal to speed up the ripening process.  The release of this gas is thought to be a mechanism by which plants promote uniform ripening or opening, etc.   In nature, the uniformity of these events attracts the maximum number of pollinators or seed disseminators, such as birds and insects. At home, however, when you store your fruits and vegetables in the refrigerator, ethylene gas builds up. As a result the ripening process is accelerated too quickly.   This is a major reason we all throw out so much spoiled produce!

The Bluapple is based on technology that has been used in ships, warehouses and trucks for many years to absorb and neutralize ethylene gas buildup.  The Bluapple does not release any gas or chemical, but only absorbs, constantly removing this harmful gas from your produce storage area.  The Bluapple is not a "magic" pill, but a scientific and essential part of keeping produce fresh.   When produce was cheap, no one cared, but as prices have risen, it became apparent that a very beneficial product for the home could make a huge difference.

There are three key elements to long produce life: a) temperature - keeping produce cold; b) humidity - using vented plastic bags to keep a moist, but not wet environment; c) ethylene gas management - using the Bluapple.  Disruption of any one of these elements will cause premature spoilage.

It may interest you to know that they provide a money back guarantee, which they are proud to honor.  After selling many hundreds of thousands of Bluapples, they have processed only about 20 refund requests, to each of whom Jessica has written a letter.

The Bluapple is a proven, science-based technology that we have adapted for use in the home.  With a single gourmet apple costing $1.25 these days, our produce is an investment worth protecting.  It is their view that the Bluapple is essentially FREE.  Users easily recover the purchase price in savings within a few weeks, and the Bluapple continues to deliver value for many months thereafter.

My cute money saving BluApple!
Now how do you start saving? Here's how!

1. Follow my blog and comment below that you do! (Mandatory!)
2. Like BluApple's FB Page and give them some loving! Comment below that you did :D (mandatory!)
3. Share giveaway on FB, Blog and/or Twitter, one comment for each sharing please (up to 3 entries available!)

That's it! There is a possible 5 chances for you to win!!!

Giveaway will end on Monday July 9th at 9AM.

Good luck!!!

Vita Coco Review and Giveaway!!

I first saw Vita Coco at our local Costco a couple months ago. When I was pregnant with Little Man, I used to get HORRIBLE charley horses in my legs. Like it would wake me up from a dead sleep in horrible pain because of them. Well as your athletes (and mothers) know, its because of not enough water and potassium. Yeah I was guilty on all parts! They advertise that their product is an EXCELLENT source of potassium and also hydration. Score on all parts right? (It actually says on the side of their containers...Contains more potassium then a banana but don't tell the monkeys that!) So of course I bought a couple of them to try at home. Up to this point, I have never had a drop of coconut water. Nor am I big fan of coconut period so I was kinda skeptical I would even like it.

Yeah..I was hooked.

Then I saw that an awesome blog I read, Running Diva Mom, was doing a giveaway for Vita Coco. I entered thinking that I wouldn't win cause I don't win that often on pretty much anything BUT...

I did!! (This is actually missing three containers as I have been drinking them like crazy!)

Their pineapple flavor is so delicious. Like its crazy how delicious it is. And I drink it SUPER cold. I put a container in the freezer about 15-20 minutes before I drink it and its like drinking a slushie. Anything warmer then that and I can't drink it at all. The coconut flavor isn't very strong at all and that is what hooked me on it. Its seriously like thinking pineapple juice IMO.

I am so in love with this stuff I contacted them about giving YOU all a chance to win a case of your own! They were more then happy to oblige so here is your chance!!

The Prize: 1 case of 500ml bottles of one of three flavor choices: Pineapple, Peach/Mango or Acai Pomegranate.

How do you win???

Separate comments for each thing you do please!!

1. Become a follower OR are a follower of The Pioneer Apron (Comment below)
2. Like Vita Coco's FB page and give them some loving! Comment below that you did!
3. Tell me below which flavor you want to try out!!
4. Share this giveaway via blog, Twitter or Facebook page. One comment for each one you do!

So you have a possible chance at 5 entries to win your very own case!

Giveaway will end on June 18th and will close at 9am. I will post winner sometime that day!

Good luck to you!!

Burger King Menu Review and Gift Card Giveaway

I was recently given the chance by MyBlogSpark to try out Burger King's new healthy choice menu. I picked Wednesday night after getting my tooth taken out because let's face it, I didn't want to have to cook after going through all of that!

Off we went to Burger King and I ordered Little Man a 6 piece kids meal. Other chef ordered the Honey Mustard Chicken Wrap with a Tropical Mango Smoothie and I ordered the Chicken Ceaser Garden Fresh Salad with the Strawberry Banana Smoothie. The wraps are a huge hit around here (so cheap and very delicious, I am a fan of the Ranch one personally) and the salad was good. Course I couldn't finish the entire thing because of my mouth BUT it was good so definetly something I will try again. The dressing that comes with it is the Citrus Ceaser Vinaigrette and I wasn't a fan of that (too tangy for me) but it was still decent. I think next time I go I might try the Ranch dressing and see how I like it with the salad.

The smoothies....now the smoothies have got me hooked. I haven't tried their Tropical Mango one yet but Other Chef is a huge fan. He loves how there are chunks of mango in the smoothie itself. He also likes how its mixed in front of you. I am a HUGE fan of the Strawberry Banana one. So much in fact, I went back the next day to get another one. There isn't too much strawberry or banana flavor. It seems like the flavor is just right.

Want to try out these menu items as well? Well here's your chance at a 25$ BK Crown Card! All you have to do to enter down below is tell me which item off of the fresh choice menu you'd try! That's it!

Good luck! The giveaway will end on May 6th at 9AM :D

My earring holder completely full. Now the entire top of the box is just covered in earrings
My friend Jessica owns Rural Inspirations that specializes in handmade jewelry. She makes the most beautiful necklaces, earrings, rings, bracelets...you name it, she makes it. Not sure about you ladies, but I love handmade pieces. You know there won't be 50 of the same thing floating around. They are unique and yours. Only yours. I've had her make a couple custom pieces for me that were sold before and she made them completely new, giving them their own personal twist.

Handful Review and Giveaway!

(My Perfect Potatoes Au Gratin are in the oven currently so I have some time to set this up!)

Buying a sports bra is tricky sometimes. Some work for others, some not so much. Its even trickier when you have big ole boobs like me. I was "graced" with ginormous ones (we're talking DD cup size :() so for me, its even harder!!

When I first started going back to the gym back in September, I bought this Nike Pro Sports Bra:

Total uniboob in it. Like seriously. So bad in fact, I feel weird going out after my workout in it. It also isn't very comfortable for my size that really sucked. When Old Navy was having their huge Activewear sale, I bought this:

I love it. Its comfortable, it fits well. And it actually separates. Score!

As I started reading more blogs I noticed that every one I know wears a Handful Sports Bra. And everyone raves about them! Course I have yet to see someone with my cup size but I took my chances! I checked out their website and read a bit about them. Come to find out, this company was founded (and the bra was invented) because of a woman's frustration with finding the right bra. RIGHT?!? I think we have ALL been there! They are also super cute. They have spaghetti racerback straps. They come in cute colors AND the cool thing, they don't look like sports bras. You can wear them with a tank or low cut shirt and no one would ever know! (Unless of course, you are sitting around someone that has a Handful then she might be like "Uh huh, that's a Handful!)

I contacted Jody and told her my dilemma. She is AMAZING. Her exact words were "Well you are MORE then a Handful but I would love to hear your review on it from a bigger cup size woman!" She sent me the coca colored one and I instantly checked it out.

Bottom line...Love. LOVE LOVE LOVE. No uniboob. No trying to force the boob back into the bra, nothing. Just pure...love. Never feel like you are wearing it either, its so lightweight on the body. If you have not tried these out yet...what are you waiting for?? GOO!! GOO NOW!!

So how do you score one of these?? WELL today is your lucky day! There will be a chance to win one from my giveaway AND a chance to win THREE from Handful!! So you could potentially score three bras...SCORE!!

Here's how for my giveaway:

1. Follow my blog and comment that you did +1 entry
2. Head on over to Handful and then comment which color you would want if you won!! +1 entry

Here's how to win a possible THREE bras!

PureFit Bar Review

Like all the other awesome blogs I read, I too was given the chance to review PureFit Bars. Like the other awesome blogs I read, I was given the 5 sample bars. The flavors, I wasn't too enthused with but meh. You can't complain too much can you?

The Granola Crunch I really enjoyed. It wasn't too crunchy either as the title would make you think. Definetly out of all 5, this one was my one of my top favorites. The Almond Crunch I tried next. Not bad at all. I am not a big fan of almond though so I would have to say this was at the bottom of my list. The Berry Almond Crunch, same thing, had almonds. BUT you could definetly taste the berry flavor vs the almond flavor so that was decent. The Chocolate Brownie was actually my least fave. Not entirely sure what it was but I just did not like it :( My most favorite however was Peanut Butter. Which is no surprise since I love any peanut butter nutrition bar :D While the flavors are decent tasting, the fact that there are only 5 flavors was kinda of a set back. BUT its like any other nutrition bar really. You find one flavor you like and you stick with it :D At least that is how it is for me :D

I love their 40/30/30 combination they have in each bar. 40% carbs, 30% protein and 30% fat which is ideal for a working out body (consistent energy). I also love how each bar really does fill you up, unlike some competitors bars where you are hungry not even 20 minutes later. I ate each of these in the morning before my workout and I was set until my midmorning snack. Another score in my book. Definetly eat these with a lot of water! They are thick so drinking with water is definetly a good idea. I think that is something that surprised me the most. I guess I was expecting the consistency of a PowerBar and these ones definetly break off more in your mouth. Which is fine! Not a bad thing at all. Just a tad surprising when not expecting it :D These bars are also dairy, wheat and glutten free, no trans fat, artificial sweetners or hydrogenerated fats. Definetly a healthy choice.

If you choose to order on their website (link above if you missed it), use promo code PROMO25. You also save when you reorder. 1-3boxes are 34.35each (2.29/bar), 4-5 boxes are 32.00each (2.13/bar), 6-9 boxes are 30.00each (2.00/bar) and 10+ boxes are 28.00each (1.86/bar).

Enjoy!!!

I love coffee. Like no mistaking that or denying it, I love coffee. Of any type. I like lattes, I like espresso shots, anything! So much in fact, that I typically drink a pot of coffee a day. Intense right?

Well Jan from Click Espresso Protein Drink sent me their Click Sample Bag to try out.
My shaker bottle is currently being washed in the dishwasher, sorry.

Let me tell you, I am HOOKED. I have been drinking the mocha every morning before my workouts for the last month. The mocha is absolutely fabulous (have not tried the french vanilla one YET because I am totally addicted to the mocha and only have one serving left:
Insert epic sad face here. I have to wait for my next order to come in!! WAH! Anyway...

This stuff is addicting, its so delicious AND its good for you! Coming in at 120 calories, it also has 23 vitamins and minerals, 15 grams of protein (which I was told by Jan today equals 1/2 cup of cottage cheese!) and its equal to 2 espresso shots. Its a perfect for breakfast OR a snack throughout your day!

Its also reasonably priced too, 26.95$ for the regular, 29.95$ for the all natural. I drink 2 scoops with 20oz of water and its lasted me the entire month. Definetly worth the money!

ZipFizz Review and Giveaway

Do you ever just need a shot of energy? Do you ever feel just so rundown sometimes and you want something healthy and not a Monster or a 5 Hour Energy Shot? That's where ZipFizz comes in!

ZipFizz is an all natural, healthy energy drink. There is a range of 5 flavors which are Grape, Citrus, Pink Lemonade, Berry and Orange Soda. Each tube is chocked full of vitamins and minerals which are AMAZING for ya! (Not all that sugar that some of the other drinks have!) Its also SO EASY to make and use! Add one tube, then add some water, shake it up (watch out cause all that fizz will make the water bottle pop open a bit!!!) and viola! Done.

From their website:

WHAT’S IN IT?

Zipfizz contains 25 nutritional ingredients:

9 VITAMINS: vitamins C, E, all the Bs, and folate

8 MINERALS: potassium, magnesium, calcium, zinc, selenium, manganese, chromium, sodium
ELECTROLYTES: magnesium, potassium
AMINO ACIDS: arginine, taurine
ANTIOXIDANTS: green tea extract, vitamins C and E
THE 4 G’S: Grape seed extract, Ginger, Green tea and Ginseng

DOES IT HAVE CAFFEINE?
Yes. It has 100 mgs of caffeine from natural sources of green tea and Guarana. That’s
about one-fourth the caffeine in a Tall Starbucks coffee (375 mg) and less than two
Excedrin tablets (130 mg).

HOW IS IT SWEETENED?
Zipfizz contains no sugar. With only 10 calories, it is sweetened with Xylitol (pronounced
“Zy-le-tall”) and Sucralose. Xylitol is a naturally occurring, low-calorie sugar substitute
found in berries, fruits and birch bark. Many dentists recommend chewing Xylitol gum for
good dental health. The average person produces 6-10 grams a day of Xylitol, it is a by-
product of sugar metabolism.

I have been drinking one of these tubes for the last week now after my gym time and let me tell you, it works! Normally by the time I get home from the gym, I am ready for a nap! Seriously! With this stuff, I was ready to go all day. There was no sugar crash either that some other products give you. It really is amazing and I am officially hooked.

So do you want to try this out and become hooked as well?

The lovely Nichole with ZipFizz wants to give TWO winners a chance at trying out this awesome product. You will receive this cute water bottle and the 5 tubes shown above!
