#24 Walking Tour of Old DuPont Done!

DuPont, WA is this newer city south of JBLM.

Or so I thought.

Apparently, DuPont, WA has been around since the 1800s. It used to be the home of Fort Nisqually.

Then in 1906, it became home of an explosive plant. Old DuPont, which is where these pictures were taken, was the area where that plant existed.

The tour starts at this park, Iafrati Park. The park used to be the home of the Plant Manager, which once you start walking, you see his house....

There is another path that takes up near the house, its absolutely beautiful.

Once you walk some more you come to the Old DuPont Museum. So we went inside there and had a look around....

Old Scout stuff from the original DuPont Pack and Troop. Little Man was very interested with him being in Scouts. He walked around the corner and all I heard was "MOM! Scout stuff!!!"

When you leave the museum, you go right and follow the trail on the map. It takes you past this house on your left, the old Doc's house. Really different then what Docs live in nowadays huh?

Keeping walking and you see this on your left, the First Church in DuPont, obviously been remodeled.

This is one the backside of the trail. This site used to be the home of the Children's Playground and the Wading Pool.

This is near the backside of the Museum, Firestation #11. Boys aged 8-12  worked here and that made it the youngest station in US History.

It was something easy, something educational for Little Man (and myself) and plus it was a good walk. Definitely a good way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon after Mass.

Running Divas Review and Giveaway

Who doesn't like comfortable workout clothes? Be it running, walking, Crossfit, or just a day at the gym...you have to feel comfortable in what you are wearing right?

One of my absolute favorite companies for apparel is Running Divas. I really like their Running Divas-Flaunt It tees (as you know, most of them are marathon or half marathon sayings and I have never ran one of those!...maybe one day!). After owning about 7 of these of my own, I want to share with you guys! I know some of you are very familiar with their clothing and can you argue that they aren't super comfortable and super soft? Nope you can't. And some of the sayings are absolutely hilarious.

So as part of my weekly "My Favorite Things" giveaway, I asked Running Divas if they would be a part of it. Of course, they said yes! They were awesome enough to send me one of these for myself:

Which is absolutely comfortable! I love how its a pullover and that its so lightweight. With our random temperatures (its 76 today and will be 60s next week...really?) that is a must around WA.

And then he sent me FOUR pieces for FOUR lucky readers!
