Meet My Girl....

Nope haven't had her yet.

But I have had those awesome 3D ultrasounds. Not gonna lie, a BIG reason I picked the practice I did (besides totally loving all the midwives there!!!).

Meet Little Miss Madelyn Grace.

They have her estimated to be about 6.5lbs already (give or take 12 oz). She has a big ole head like her brother. Long arms and long legs (which I feel in all parts of my insides). A full head of hair already and since I still have 6 more weeks, there will more then likely be LOTS of it. Long eyelashes already and most definetly STILL a girl.

Just 6 more weeks and she is finally here.

Wow.

That time just flew by huh?

OH and here is me the other night after my maternity pictures were taken.

I.

Am.

Huge.

Update on Little Miss (32 weeks!!!)

So Little Miss will be here soon. I am due in October but midwife's exact words were "IF we can get you to 37 weeks then she can come at any time and I will be happy." She has already dropped. She is HUGE. With Little Man I had a ton of extra fluid (I had gestational diabetes) so I never was able to go "Oh that is a leg", "oh this is his butt". With this one, I can. Like currently she is punching down below and she keeps rolling around. My stomach looks like she is playing Dance Party Revolution in there (which she won't since I am jamming to Journey and she always gets really excited when that comes on). She gets the hiccups all the time. Which I guess is a good sign according to my midwife because it means her lungs are developing nicely. Except it makes her insanely mad. She starts kicking nonstop. She punches hard. She does NOT like it. Honestly, she better come out with some red hair because this little girl is FIESTY. She has my temper already. Oh man.

And here I am. About ready to pop. I look like major crap because I am sleeping MAYBE 3-4 hours a night (sciatica is an awesome ailment, let me tell you :()....

32 weeks, 33 tomorrow.

Woodland Park Zoo

Saturday was a trip to the Woodland Park Zoo

Don't they look mighty cool?

Can you find the wolf?

Mister Porcupine enjoying a morning meal.

Beautiful Kangaroo looking mighty sad :(

Yes I was so waiting for one of them to poop on me and the Rebel.

My Kitty Babies sleep like that too!

He's thinking "Plump...lunch."

Little Man's favorite animal ever.

Oh Hello Mister Giraffe, is it feeding time? (no zoom lens, we got to feed him and he was literally that close to me)

A Belated Birthday blog....

I turned 27 on the 30th of July. Eek! I remember turning 17 and thinking "Wow, I can't wait to 18 finally!" And now with each passing year, I am like "Oh great, another year." It seems as we get older, the years fly by faster. I am still in shock that its already nearing mid August.

This year, I celebrated with some good peeps and some good eats. We ended up hitting a restaurant in Seattle called The Crab Pot. Its AH-MAZING! You can order these pots and they cook it and dump it on the table...

No silverware really. Just a mallet, a small crab fork and a small tub of butter.

Can we say heaven??

Seattle is known for its seafood and honestly, how can it not? Its fresh. Its delicious. And its everywhere up here. One of the best things about this area is the places to eat (are we noticing that I am kind of a foodie yet?). This place is so amazing that it was even featured on Man vs Food (in the same episode as Beth's Cafe which I have also eaten at and might just go there again to blog about it!!!). Definetly a choice place to hit up if you are ever in the Seattle area.

During dinner, Little Man ended up playing in the arcade that is also on the same pier. He hit the jackpot on the jackpot game about 4 times and ended up with almost 700 tickets. So of course, he came home with lots of goodies. Then after dinner, we ended up getting ice cream from the homemade stand that is in front of the pier. Amazing.

It was one of the best birthdays I have had in awhile. Even if I was 7 months pregnant and couldn't really "celebrate".

What are your plans for the weekend??

This weekend me and Little Man are headed up to the Woodland Park Zoo. Haven't been there in almost 2 years so looking forward to it!

Pot Roast Recipe from Pinterest

Lots of recipes are flying around from Pinterest on my news feed on Facebook and the various blogs I read. It really seems that they are hit or miss. Sometimes they are AH-MAZING and other times you are like Welp, we can still get a Little Ceaser's pizza and salvage this night!

I am still fairly a noob when it comes to cooking pot roast. I normally leave that up to Other Chef cause he makes an amazing one but lately, I have been giving it a try. For the longest time now, Pioneer Woman's Perfect Pot Roast has been my absolute fave to cook. But given how hot its been around here lately, which is completely abnormal, I haven't wanted to touch the oven. So I was looking for something in the crock pot (which OMG its going to be fall soon and I can't wait to start using that more and more again!). I found this recipe a long time ago on Pinterest and it looked fairly simple. So finally decided to give it a try.

Its really simple. In fact, not sure who's recipe this is as its just a picture on Pinterest with a tag under it on how to make it. You mix a package of ranch dressing, italian dressing (I actually used garlic and herb dressing packet) and a package of brown gravy. Cover the roast in it and add some water, voila. Done. Cook for 8 hours and love the smells that it creates for your kitchen.

The meat is so juicy and tender, it literally just melts with a fork. Literally. I was a tad skeptical, as was Other Chef, about the ingredients but honestly, perfect flavor. Serve with some mashed potatoes (or scalloped like I did) and a veggie and you have a perfect meal. Enjoy!

Ever just been so busy...

That everyday you have to check your calendar to see if things are going on?

That's how I am feeling right now.

Little Man is full speed into swim lessons. He wants to be on the swim team. He watched the swim competitions with me during the Olympics. My 6 year old actually looked at me and said "I want to be like Michael Phelps Momma." The fact that he already has a "hero" (besides Daddy) is awesome. The fact that my clothes and my body are going to smell like chlorine everyday, that's awesome too. I love the pool. I love sitting in the bleachers everyday. I love that he loves it.

Wish my high school had something this nice inside it....
I was feeling kinda bad there for a bit. He was doing Cub Scouts, Swim, Karate, Soccer this fall, Awana's this fall and First Communion classes this fall. Plus Summer Reading Program this summer. It got the point where schedules were going to be overlapping and I just couldn't take it anymore. Plus when Little Miss gets here, that is going to be rough everyday you know? So I made him choose between Swim and Soccer...he chose Swim. Then looking at how much we drop on karate each month, I made him choose between karate and swim. He choose swim. He'll still do Scouts and his church activities but I think for now, we are going to focus on swim (which is 4 days a week as it is).

I am still full force into school and its so.boring. This writing class ends soon, thank goodness, and I can't wait for it. Its horrible. I dread every single day doing it! I've never NOT liked a class, until now. Writing and I just don't mix. At all. Maybe its the content, maybe its the instructor, I don't know. All I do know is that I can't wait for it to be over!

How has your summer been? Staying busy as usual?
