So this area is not known for snow...at all. We get one "storm' every single winter and it lasts for a couple days and off it goes.
This year we figured we had bypassed the snow because it was into January and nothing.
Last week the weatherman said that we were going to be having this horrible storm, etc etc. Brace yourselves! Sure sure. Saturday morning it was alright. Nothing major. Sunday same thing. It was "bad" but nothing major. Monday brought this:

Like I said, brace yourselves!! This continued until around 10am and then was melted. In fact, from the Tacoma Dome up to South Seattle, there was nothing...at all. So meh, no one was worried about it.
Last night school districts started closing. The base went ahead and called for a two hour delay. Mind you, there was NOTHING but clear skies last night.
Apparently I was the one that didn't brace myself....

Its still falling steadily. The weatherman is calling for 12-18 inches here in T-Town. Which is EXTREMELY unheard of. The entire 5 years I have lived here, I have never seen more then a couple inches in this area. The back porch is completely covered in snow.
Looks like for once the weatherman was right. Brace yourselves!!!

I can't believe all the snow Tacoma got -- it's like up North -- crazy!! I'm avoiding the roads and keeping warm INDOORS; however, my North Face Tri Climate just came in the mail, so I might have to go on adventure:)
North Face are the best coats...hands down!! Enjoy the Tri-Climate! I was told to score me one of those if I end up in Ukraine during the winter!
It's cold here. I'm talking COLD! High of TWO degrees today. Whoo. hoo.

Yeah a couple of our friends are there now and she said its not that bad. I guess the winters in Kiev aren't so biting. Its just...cold. Here its like Umm my eyes are literally freezing...what is going on here?!?
